There are a plethera of Free living nematode (FLN)species - all of which attack plants in differing ways. The light land we are using to grow the crops have suffered from FLN for many years. We have been contious of the species of FLN and the varieties of potatoes we are sowing as certain varieties will be affected more than others and some require fungicidal treatments in preference to nematicides.
FLN not only reduces yield and quality it has been shown to be of detriment to fry quality and colour.
